Rescue: Stuck Motorist, Forest Service Road 1810

On March 24, 2025, at approximately 10:40 PM, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue volunteers were paged out regarding a stuck motorist off Forest Service Road 1810. Their vehicle had overheated in the process of getting stuck, which caused it to burn down to the frame.
The deputy and volunteer departed the SAR station with one of the SAR tracked vehicles (ARGO) in tow. Opportunely, they were able to make their way to the stuck vehicle and subject in a 4×4 truck without needing to utilize the tracked vehicle. The subject was treated for minor injuries on scene and was provided a courtesy transport to their residence.
